I edited and sound designed this film in the summer of 2010. It is a short Stewart-era Scottish costume drama written and directed by Nick Farr.

After losing his wife in childbirth, Allen, a Reeve (estate manager) working for the Scottish gentry, discovers poetry in her handwriting addressed to another man. He is drawn into a deception engineered by the mistress of the castle, who has mourned the death of Mary, Queen of Scots for twelve long years. The closed community of servants – the “village on the roof” – becomes complicit in a betrayal.

The film stars Martin Compston (Red Road, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Sweet Sixteen), Linzi Campbell, David McKay (Neds, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, My Name is Joe) and Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones, Prometheus, Red Road).
