PANEL 1: The first of probably far too many Spider-Man homages and references. This first panel references the opening splash page of Spider-Man's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15. Gregory is carrying a 1970's style issue of Pest Control, a sort of sister title to The O Men, which of course wasn't being published in the 70's!
PANEL 3: The name Gregory is a reference to Kafka's Metamorphosis. You'll see why on the next page. "Parker" is obviously a Spider-Man reference. The news story replaces a whole page depicting the fight between Union Jack and Demijohn, but I couldn't work out a good way to do it. Then Martin said I needed to drop a page anyway, so it all worked out in the end!
PANEL 4: This panel is supposed to be mirrored in the first panel of the next page, but I'm not sure how well that comes through.
